I was aware that Charlestowne Mall was scheduled to close on December 1, 2017 and was fortunate enough to have been able to pay it a visit about a week or so beforehand. The center court was quite striking, with its massive skylights and glass elevator, as was the food court, which also featured an array of skylights and windows at the far end to brighten up the space. The pictures here may not do it justice: this was definitely one of my favorite center court designs to date. The painted facade shown below was also quite noteworthy.
