Parlormuse explores the popular music of the Victorian Era (late nineteeth and early twentieth centuries) through uniquely nostalgic arrangements that also incorporate early electronic instruments from the 1920s and 1930s. The project’s full-length debut, 2007’s It’s Not the Coat Makes the Gentleman, was followed by two EP-length releases of period piano music as well as a series of singles before 2020 saw it return to the album format for the supernaturally-themed Grinning at the Daisy Roots.
