That’s a great question – I’m glad you asked! You can do an awful lot here on the site without registering: listening to songs, viewing news posts, watching videos, etc. So what does registering get you? Quite a bit, actually.
First of all, registering is completely free and does NOT automatically subscribe you to any kind of mailing list. If you want to subscribe to my newsletter, that’s awesome and I’d love to have you, but it’s entirely up to you. We also don’t collect extraneous information (i.e. address, phone numbers, etc.) that a lot of people might be hesitant to disclose. You’ll need to provide a unique user name and password, your real name, and a valid email address for confirming your account, but that’s about it.
Once you have an account, you can comment on posts, rate songs and albums, create a ‘favorites’ list that allows quick and easy access to the music you found to be most enjoyable, and generally interact with the site in ways that guests cannot. And that’s just right now – we’re planning on expanding account-based functionality in the future.
So if all of this sounds good to you, the register link will take you there. If not, that’s ok – thanks for reading and we hope that you’ll enjoy the site regardless!
